Our Privacy Commitment
Veteran10 was created to help Veterans, serving members, first responders and others from service communities maintain a meaningful email identity, not to collect unnecessary personal information.
We believe personal information should be treated with care, transparency and respect. We collect and use information only where reasonably necessary to provide, secure, administer and improve Veteran10 services, or where otherwise permitted or required by law.
Veteran10 does not sell or rent your personal information.
By using Veteran10.com or Veteran10 services, you acknowledge the collection, use, storage and disclosure of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the services you use, Veteran10 may collect information such as:
- first and last name;
- primary or alternate email address;
- Veteran10 email address;
- telephone number, where provided;
- country or region;
- billing and transaction information;
- service, profession or eligibility-related information provided during registration or verification;
- account and mailbox settings;
- customer-support communications;
- website usage and security information;
- Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and other technical information associated with website or email access; and
- other information reasonably required to establish, administer, secure or support your account.
Payment-card or other electronic payment information may be collected and processed directly by payment providers. Veteran10 may not receive or retain complete payment-card credentials.
We seek to collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate Veteran10 and provide the services requested by our customers.
2. Hosted Email Information
Veteran10 provides fully functional hosted email mailboxes.
As a result, information processed through the Veteran10 email service may include:
- incoming and outgoing email messages;
- message headers and addressing information;
- attachments;
- folders and mailbox organization;
- contacts and address-book information;
- calendar information where used;
- spam and filtering information;
- mailbox settings;
- login and security information; and
- technical information required to transmit, receive, store, synchronize and protect email.
Veteran10 does not routinely read customer email for advertising or marketing purposes.
Email content and related information may be automatically processed or accessed where reasonably necessary to deliver messages, provide mailbox functionality, detect spam or malware, troubleshoot technical problems, maintain security, investigate suspected abuse, enforce service requirements or comply with applicable law.
3. How We Use Personal Information
Veteran10 may use personal information to:
- establish and administer your Veteran10 account;
- verify eligibility where applicable;
- register and provision your Veteran10 email address;
- operate and maintain your hosted mailbox;
- authenticate users and manage account access;
- provide password recovery and account-security services;
- process payments and maintain billing records;
- provide customer and technical support;
- communicate important information concerning your account or service;
- investigate suspected fraud, spam, abuse or security incidents;
- protect Veteran10 and its customers;
- maintain appropriate business and accounting records;
- improve our website and services;
- comply with legal and regulatory obligations; and
- send newsletters or other optional communications where you have chosen to receive them.
Service-related communications necessary to administer an active account may be sent independently of your marketing preferences.
4. Alternate or Backup Email Address
Veteran10 may request an alternate or backup email address when you register.
This provides a way to contact you if your Veteran10 mailbox becomes inaccessible or requires password or account recovery. It may also be used for important administrative, billing, renewal or security communications relating to your Veteran10 account.
Providing an alternate email address does not automatically subscribe that address to promotional communications.
5. Hosted Email Infrastructure and Data Location
Veteran10 uses established third-party infrastructure to support the operation and security of its hosted email service.
Veteran10 hosted email data is hosted in Canadian data centres.
Information may be processed as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure and troubleshoot the service in accordance with applicable privacy requirements and law.
Veteran10 remains your primary point of contact for Veteran10 email service, billing and customer support.
6. How We Share Information
Veteran10 does not sell, rent or trade customer personal information.
Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary:
- to service providers supporting Veteran10’s email, website, payment, security or technical operations;
- to professional advisers where reasonably necessary;
- to investigate fraud, abuse or security incidents;
- when required or permitted by applicable law, court order or lawful government request;
- to protect the rights, safety, property or security of Veteran10, its customers or others; or
- with your consent or at your direction.
Service providers may receive information as necessary to perform services on behalf of Veteran10 and are subject to applicable contractual, legal and privacy obligations.
7. Data Security
Veteran10 uses reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse.
These measures may include account authentication, access controls, secure connections, spam and malware filtering, backups, security monitoring and other safeguards appropriate to the service.
Customers are also responsible for protecting their passwords, devices and account credentials.
No Internet, website or email system can guarantee absolute security. Veteran10 therefore cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, data loss, malicious activity or other security incidents will never occur.
8. Spam, Malware and Automated Processing
Veteran10’s hosted-email service uses automated systems to help process and protect email.
Messages and attachments may be automatically processed for purposes such as:
- spam detection;
- malware and virus detection;
- message routing and delivery;
- filtering;
- abuse prevention;
- security monitoring; and
- troubleshooting.
Messages identified as spam or malicious may be blocked, quarantined or automatically deleted in accordance with the technical policies of the email service.
Automated security processing does not mean that Veteran10 routinely reads customer correspondence.
9. Data Retention
Veteran10 retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing services, maintaining appropriate business and transaction records, resolving disputes, preventing abuse and satisfying legal or regulatory requirements.
Mailbox contents are generally retained while the hosted mailbox remains active, subject to storage limitations and applicable service policies.
When an email account is cancelled, expires or is terminated, mailbox information may remain available for a limited period before being permanently deleted.
Customers are responsible for preserving or exporting messages and other mailbox information they wish to retain before account deletion.
Veteran10 cannot guarantee recovery of information after it has been permanently deleted.
10. Account Closure and Deletion Requests
Customers may request closure of their Veteran10 account.
Where applicable, customers may also request deletion of personal information associated with their account.
Certain information may nevertheless need to be retained where reasonably necessary for:
- legal or regulatory requirements;
- taxation and accounting records;
- payment and transaction records;
- fraud and abuse prevention;
- dispute resolution;
- security records; or
- establishing or defending legal rights.
Closing an email account may result in permanent deletion of messages and other mailbox information after the applicable retention period.
11. Access and Correction
You may request access to personal information Veteran10 maintains about you and may request correction of information that is inaccurate or incomplete, subject to applicable legal requirements and reasonable identity verification.
Veteran10 may require sufficient information to verify that a request is being made by the person to whom the information relates.
12. Marketing Communications
Veteran10 may send administrative and service-related communications necessary to operate your account.
Marketing, newsletters or other optional communications will be sent in accordance with applicable requirements and customer preferences.
You may unsubscribe from promotional communications using the unsubscribe mechanism provided or by contacting Veteran10.
Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not prevent Veteran10 from sending necessary account, billing, security, renewal or service notices.
13. Cookies and Website Technologies
Veteran10 may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- operate website functionality;
- maintain sessions;
- remember preferences;
- improve website performance;
- protect website and account security; and
- understand how visitors use Veteran10.com.
You may control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect website or account functionality.
Where required, Veteran10 will provide appropriate information or choices concerning non-essential cookies.
14. Third-Party Websites and Services
Veteran10.com may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites and services.
Those organizations operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Veteran10 is not responsible for the privacy practices of unrelated third-party websites merely because Veteran10 provides a link to them.
15. Children and Minors
Veteran10 services are intended for adults.
Veteran10 does not knowingly offer hosted email accounts to or collect personal information directly from individuals under 18 years of age.
If we learn that personal information has been collected from a minor contrary to this policy, we will take reasonable steps to address the situation.
16. Legal Requests and Protection of the Service
Veteran10 may preserve, process or disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, a court order, legal process or other lawful requirement.
Information may also be processed or disclosed where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud or abuse, protect account security, enforce Veteran10’s Terms of Use, or protect Veteran10, its customers or others.
Veteran10 does not voluntarily disclose customer information to third parties for purposes unrelated to operating the service except with customer consent or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.
17. Changes to Service Providers
Veteran10 may change email, hosting, payment or other technology providers as its services develop.
Where this results in the transfer or migration of customer information, Veteran10 will take reasonable steps to protect the information during the transition and will update this Privacy Policy where appropriate.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Veteran10 may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our services, technology, legal obligations or privacy practices.
The current version will be published on Veteran10.com with its effective date.
Where appropriate, material changes affecting existing customers may also be communicated directly.

Questions about this Privacy Policy, Veteran10’s handling of personal information, or requests relating to personal information may be submitted through the Contact page on Veteran10.com.
Veteran10 may require reasonable identity verification before responding to requests involving account information or personal data.
